All are Invited to "The 11th Hour" Free Screenings
West Michigan residents are invited to a free screening of "The 11th Hour", a new film on the environmental crisis facing humankind and the Earth, on Sunday December 9 at 4–6 P.M. at Christ Community Church (C3) in Spring Lake or December 10 from 4-6 P.M. at the Beardsley Theater (BT) in Muskegon. "The 11th Hour", written and directed by the sisters Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners, and narrated on- and off - camera by Leonardo DiCaprio, who served as one of the producers, attempts to stave off helplessness regarding global warming, and the nihilism that often follows it, by appealing to reason and proffering answers to the commonly asked question "What can we do?"
Manohla Dargis of The New York Times remarks "It is our astonishing capacity for hope that distinguishes ‘The 11th Hour’ and that speaks so powerfully, in part because it is this all-too-human quality that may finally force us to fight the good fight against the damage we have done and continue to do."
The film is presented by the Muskegon Area Sustainability Coalition, the Mona Lake Watershed Council & the Center for Economic Security.
"The 11th Hour" is rated PG (Parental guidance suggested). Running time: 91 minutes.
