Healing Wave - Music Encircles the Planet
Healing Wave
Music Encircles the Planet
Around the world young people will be joining in a Concert for Global Healing titled "Reverence for Life, Music for Life," beginning April 1 and culminating on Earth Day, April 22. That day a global wave of music dawns in the Marshall Islands, following the sun westward through Melbourne, Australia; Hiroshima, Japan; Oslo, Norway; Lambaréné, Gabon; Yaounde, Cameroon; and on to Boston, Baltimore, Chicago and San Francisco in the United States. Their message? Abolish weapons of mass destruction and mobilize tools of global healing.
"The world today needs similar outpourings of grassroots support to solve today’s urgent problems, both local and global," says Dr. Lachlan Forrow, president of The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship. The occasion honors the 50th anniversary of this renowned humanitarian’s and Nobel Peace Laureate’s historic "Declaration of Conscience."
