New Study Support Supplement Use

A new study by The Lewin Group shows that use of omega-3 fatty acids and lutein with zeaxanthin supplements help seniors avoid coronary heart disease and macular degeneration. Subjects 65 and older who took 1,800 milligrams of omega-3 and 6 to 10 milligrams of lutein with zeaxanthin needed fewer visits to doctors and hospitals and remained more independent. Estimated healthcare savings for the 100+ thousand participants amount to $5.6 billion over five years. The study was commissioned by the Dietary Supplement Education Alliance.
